Terumo Pharmaceutical CDMO Prefillable Syringe Manufacturing Process
- Barrels are molded from advanced Cyclo Olefin Polymer (COP) resin by high pressure injection molding assuring dimensional accuracy1
- Excellent syringe barrel strength and clarity1 and is silicone oil-free2, and tungsten-free3
- Barrels go through assembly steps for staked needle pre-filled syringes (PFS), starting with insertion of needle holder and then laser welding the needle into position
- Needle is siliconized on the outer surface and inspected using automated camera systems
- Assembly completed with addition of protective needle shield
